You can get to Dortmund by many train connections. From Dortmund-Hbf (Main Station) there is a fast train (S-train line 1 to Düsseldorf) to the University campus (station "Dortmund-Universität") every 20 or 30 minutes. The duration from "Dortmund-Hbf" to "Dortmund Universität" is only 6 minutes. This train connects Dortmund and Düsseldorf, so it also offers a direct connection to the cities Bochum, Essen, Mülheim, Duisburg and Düsseldorf.
